Upper back is not where I'd want to be, unless it was a Cup Final and I couldn't get a decent seat
Lower Corners are best to be near the pitch

I'd agree with all this. I've gone separately with 2 friends I'd also taken to UP a few times. Both agreed it's a quality stadium, and it has lots going for it. I'm sitting lower tier, towards the corners, and I have one of the best views I've had at a football ground. Feels close to the pitch, can hardly see the running track cover and we have a decent atmosphere going.
Bonzo is complaining about his shit view from a shit seat. I've sat right at the back of the West Stand upper tier, and I agree it's a horrible experience. Totally dead and detached. But I found the same thing when I sat at the back of the Dr Martens. If you choose a ticket at the back of the upper tier, then you're getting what you asked for.
Love that at half time I'm outside the stadium in the sunshine having a pint. Such an inspired idea. No queues for bogs, quick to get drinks. On the way to the game last week there was a family having a BBQ next to the canal, people sitting on the grass having pints and kids playing in the fountains. It was the kind of day that makes you proud to be a Londoner, and slap bang in the middle of it all was our stadium.
If there's one gripe, whilst it feels like a decent day out, it doesn't yet feel like a West Ham day out. It's all a bit clean and faceless. With a winning team, or a couple of big wins against Chelsea or Tottenham, I think we'd all be feeling totally different about our stadium. It'd be our place, where other teams would not want to come. To me, it's just a winning team away from being a success.

Agree with that Hope they can allow 5 thousand standing area because it does add something they have to be low though obviously to make an impact.

I sat at the corners of Bobby Moore block 145 row 47, excellent view, It is not even close to being as close as UP but that did not stop me seeing the game much better than I did when I sat, ha Stood rather in the Bobby Moore stand at UP.

Another first timer last night...so all that needs to happen is the fans that want to stand and sing for 90 minutes should be grouped. That will create the atmosphere. Issue there is was not considered or thought about or communicated when the 50k season tickets went like hot cakes.
Running track...solution to get fans closer to the pitch needs to be looked at.
Other than that the stadium is spectacular

Experienced it last night for the first time and it is a spectacular stadium, even my Son said this is much better than Upton Park dad, although he does not know all that much about anything. too young, but he is right.
To say the Stadium has no atmosphere is bullshit it has everything going for it but a decent performing football team that is the only gripe the only problem, once they click on that fucking pitch then you will all see how lucky we are to have Queen Elisabeth London .

Follow it wherever it goes? Well it's not like we've had a choice in the matter!

If anyone knows WHU and it's support its Bonzo. He was in charge through the bond scheme fiasco..and handled it superbly from our point of view. Never patronised us.
He's right in what he says..but he also said recently..i'its your Club..follow it wherever it goes'. That remark hit a mark with me.

Good post.
Couldn't agree more on the radio thing which I think displays an equal amount of contempt and ignorance from all so called...football people.
Still surprised at the news about police inside a football ground not being mandatory. Someone somewhere is pretty stupid making that call.
